I've been getting a lot of requests asking about the process of my work, and since I already have a lineart tutorial for how I do my digital work, I wanted to show the process for my traditional art as well. And who better to draw than the coolest game character in the world? Sam Fisher, of course!I start off extremely sloppy and ugly with my drawings, though.
Tools: Wacom Intuos 4 Medium tablet, Photoshop CS3, a light box, printer paper, and a mechanic pencil.
Step 1: Basic shapes laid out in photoshop, establish the pose. I didn't use a pose reference for this, so the anatomy isn't perfect, just bear with me here.

Step 2: Make a new layer, outline the first layer with a much thinner brush, and start adding some details. Then change the inks red.

Step 3: Print the red inks on paper, put on top of the light box with a clean sheet of paper over it, and trace it with pencil. It's much easier for me to add more details by hand than on the computer.

Still not done yet. I need to clean it up, fine tune some things, and fix some of the problem areas. Then I'll color it on photoshop and show a step by step process of that as well.![]()
