    hi,

    hopefully someone can help me with this. i've noticed from playing through the campiagn a few times that the weapons packs dont really fit the planes, so i was wandering if anyone knows where the files are that dictate what weapons packs can be used for which aircraft, and further more weather or not those files can be editted. TIA

    The file you are looking for is called default_planes.lua
    You can assign most any already created weapon pack to any plane. It's located in Data1.Pak You'll have to extract it with a program like WinRAR, edit it and then create a Menus2 folder inside the Data folder to override what's in the Data1.Pak the same way you would added new skins.
    The list of currently created weapon packs is listed in the weapon_packs.lua
    So far I have had little progress other than making changes appear in the Hangar in regards to the weapon packs. That includes creating new ones. How they are applied once a mission has started I am certain yet. But I am rackin my brain on the matter LOL

    UPDATE - I have learned you can reassign the coordinates for the hardpoints on the models. Example being on the Mig-21 Fishbed, where you have a Radar Guided Missile under the left wing and 1 lonely All Aspect Missile under the belly...can be reassigned through X, Y, Z coordinates on the model so that the Radar Guided is under the belly and the All Aspects have 1 under each wing.

    It works in Missions and they do fire from the new hardpoints, but you have to edit the weapon_pack.lua if you want it to appear that way in the Hangar. But editing the weapon_pack.lua would also affect other planes as well.

    Sadly, I have had no luck with creating new weapon packs. Atleast as far as how they appear in missions.

    what happens when you attempt multiplayer after making the above-mentioned changes? will it crash or simply not allow you to login unless everyone has the same mod..?

    As I don't have a good enough connection for multiplayer online I cannot test it there. But I have tested in a LAN game with a friend and you both need the same changes. I would think it works the same way online.

    With skins it's different, you can play but they can only see the skins from their local files. But if they have the skins allocated as you do they show up for the other person.

    UPDATE - (better than making a new post I suppose) While I haven't made anymore headway in making new weapon packs, I have noticed that you can have more than 3 packs per plane. Simply by adding to the default_planes.lua where it list what packs a plane has access to.

    In line with creating new ones, the only thing I know for sure at the moment is the first three lines of a weapon pack are very important but I don't know what file looks at those lines in terms adding it to the plane in missions yet.

    It's probably one I haven't figured out how to read yet.
