So i would like to know.
    2x7900GT 256mb versus a single 7900GTX 512mb wich would you pick ? or X1900xtx?
    I prefer Nvidia .

Probably a single 7900gtx (512), but the X1900xt is cheaper (at least at the moment from overclockers)

Well the 7950 Gx2 is the winner.

Well, finally fitted the card, fired uo FB and within seconds I had a warning message fire pop up saying the card was overheating?

I'd only been playing for seconds.

Its not overclocked, the heatsink is 'sitting ok' and you can hear the fan speed up.

    Amy ideas?

Sorry to hear about probs with X1900XT archermax....these babies run HOT!!!!I was running an X800XT PE at about high50s/low/mid 60s underload and started seeing high 80s and even 90s with the X1900XTX I was using afterwards! (briefly before RMAing it for non starting)
Then I installed ATI Tool and set the fan to run at 50% speed which is much faster than the crimnally low 20 odd percent its default speed is set at(Up to over90 degrees-so when you hear it speed up you are REALLY hot).
This brought me down to 70s(which are quite acceptable for this card -even low90s arent necessarily catastrophic-the hot air vents OUTSIDE the case).
So download ATI Tool (not all versions support X1900XT-make sure you get latest(AND overclock it to XTX speeds!!!)

Right then, I have installed the ATI toll and altered the fan speeds, but the noise is terrible when its running hot.

I can even hear it through me headphones.

Anyone recommend a better cooler, it seems to be between an arctic coller or a Zalman.

    I am open to suggestions.

    Cheers

Nice Crazy, which settings do you use to get that good min number?
I just got me a 7900 GT and was wondering which settings to use.

Archermav 100% is deafeningly loud in the X1900XT.Why not try 50% which was I felt the best compromise between noise and cooling for gaming. If just surfing the net Id say 10% would do.You can program the speed you want the fan to run at at certain temperatures with ATI Tool.If your PC is not really running that cool anyway maybe you might need 60 or 70%...mine was VERY cool running. But 100% is obscene.
The Arctic Cooler Accelero is no better a cooler it is just a bit quiter. While I loved the Arctic Coole on my X800XT PE I dont think Id bother with it on an X1900XT.Just try keep an eye on your temps with Everest (free software utility -does LOTS of stuff!).You can even record your graphic card temperature with ATI Tool.

Currently running Evga 7800 GTX KO cards with a SLI set-up and over all graphic's with any application is Very Smooth and Excellent in the Eye Candy.

Very Happy with the Quality and Performance so far from the Evga Cards.
