Poll - Should Patriots have this type of Hardcore/Highstakes mode? | Forums

With all of the unrealistic crutches UBI is forcing on us in Rainbow 6 Patriots, do you think they should include a "High Stakes" hardcore mode that would DISABLE the following:

1) 3rd Person Cover that magically sees over/around walls without being seen(replace with lean or restrict view)
2) Health Regen
3) "Instinct Icon" that magically tells you someone can see you
4) Grenade Indicator that tells you a grenade is near
5) Coins floating over people's heads (You should tell teams apart by matching uniform colors/camo)
6) Scanner that sees through walls (unless there is a countermeasure)

Yes they should include a High Stakes with these features, it would be the only hope of me caring to buy the game at this point.

Same here. The reason I still have my copy of Modern Warfare 2 is because of its inclusion of hardcore mode (search and destroy is my favorite).

Some kind of hardcore mode is a must especially if they insist on unrealistic gameplay. Something has to give and there is no reason why it shouldn't be included.

It's why I find GRFS so perplexing. Why not have a "hardcore" mode? Not having a hardcore mode damages the game far more than including it.

Meh, why not? I probably wouldn't play "high stakes" that much but it seems like a lot of people would.

I voted yes...but my suggestion is as follows:

Make all of the attributes HOST OPTIONS!

This lets UBI allow the hardcore gamers to play by their rules and lets UBI still appeal to the casual gamers.

A private host should be able to click yes/no on everything, but particularly:
1. No-respawn vs. respawn vs. limited respawn.
2. Classical Base Respawn vs. "new" respawning algorithm (i.e. random respawning).
3. No 3POV vs 3POV (Vegas style).
4. Force same team uniform/disable friendly icon vs. allow individual camo/activate friendly icon indicators.
5. No "instinct icon" vs. allow "instinct icon".
6. Team kill allowed vs. Team kill disabled.
7. Host should have option to disable any gadget/explosive (just like it currently is on vegas).
8. No x-ray vision vs. magical x-ray vision.

Lastly, absolutely NO icons above any enemy characters should be seen in multiplayer.

Really? Hardcore mode may be fun, since people drop with a single bullet, but the game is NOT the most tactical in that mode.
