Thread: Are Mind Control Spells too powerful? | Forums

It seems to me that Berserk and Hypnotise don't depend on Spells Power like H3's Hypnotise (correct me if I'm wrong).

If it is this way then they may be too powerful. Consider a level 5 hero with Expert Dark Magic can cast Berserk and Hypnotise with massive damage (if enemy's army is big). This is too powerful I think.

I think Berserk and Hypnotise should depend on spell power: the greater it is, the bigger the stack you can affect (X experience points of creatures for each spell power).

I tend to agree. So far I have not found a HP limitation to the spell. This makes the spell better than the "useless" one in prior revisions where the HP limit was too low but as-is it is too powerful.

I would suggest that the power limits for these types of spells be determined by:

    1. Hero Level
    2. Spell Power
    3. Dark Magic skill level

Note: These dark magic spells [as far as I can tell] may be the only things that will keep a necro in the game if/once the necromancy bug is fixed.

Well I found that beserk didn't have a requirement in heroes 3 and hyptnotise did depend on spell power - creature health (total). This however made beserk good and hypnotyse useless. I think it should be up to dark magic to determine how good it is

-creatures upto level 3 without dark magic
    -level 5 with basic
    -level 6 with advanced
    -level 7 expert

or even use spell power = level of creature hypnotysed, the level of creature * 2 spell power so 14 for level 7, something a long those lines

at heroes 3 the late stages of the game, the hypnosis spell became kind a useless.
it was hard to find a not too big stack!.

maybe it should seperate the controled creature from that stack.
If it's heroes, we can play it!
