Thread: Arafat is dead? | Forums

  1. #1
I just found out that Arafat has died. A reporter just informed President Bush during a live press conference. Bush gave the politically correct response and talked somewhat about the peace process. I'm more inclined to say 'good riddance' but I don't tend to rejoice at anyone's death, even those I don't like.

Apparently, the Palestinian "prime minister" is denying the claim, but eariler he had said that Arafat was getting better, not worse.

There are of course conflicting reports about this. Some French media outlets are reporting him dead. However, his minions are giving a number of conflicting stories - all of which have him as alive. However, some of these are the same people who talk about poisoned candies, impotence gas and IDF stripper commandoes.

If Arafat is dead, then perhaps things can move forward. But I doubt it.

That article says that they were going to take him off the respirator at 5:30 today. I'm not sure which time zone Paris is in but it must be 5 or 6 pm.

BTW, other than I was a bit disapointed by the Bush's PC response (what can I expect from a head of state? Bush was not taking any **** from the reporters for once. I was impressed.

Arafat.... prehaps the originator of the concept of terrorism now hailed as some sort of statesman.

How many civilans were murdered at the command of this individuals organization ,the PLO (starting with the israeli olimpic team in the early '70s up til present day activities of related groups Hamas etc) we will never know.

Now we have to listen to eulogies from world leaders to this savage.

I might credit him with the modern concept of terrorism, but terrorist tactics have been around for thousands of years.

I don't want to be improper, so I'll just say this...
I hope this can be the beginning of more hope for the Isreali / Palestinian conflict.

"Earlier reports that he's dead are false."

Either way, it doesn't look good for him...
