GeForce8, Windows XP, Forceware 171.23, and the nHancer software are used.
The profile of PoP is opened on nHancer, and "Anti-Aliasing compatibility" of the "Compatibility" tab is set to "00000045: Oblivion (AA & HDR)".

Notes: If Transparency AA is set to "Multi Sampling", the sand gate becomes unusual.
If Transparency AA is set to "Super Sampling", it doesn't become unusual. Instead, a lot of performances are needed.

Ubisoft tested and published their game for certain video cards under typical settings.

Are you using a certified graphics card?
Did you adjust the settings "intentionally" to experiment, or are you describing your "out of the box" experience?
