Well first of all, I need to ask what is the point of hacking the merc when playing online ? Is there any benefit to hacking them? Also what does the jammer do exactly ?
There is also a compliant if your host please just dont play spies and then quit. Switch sides, and let others play spies too. If you cant follow this simple & fair rule as a host just dont play the game thank you.

Boy is there ever an advantage to hacking a merc. What happens is that they can NOT use grenades or drones, their flashlight blinks rapidly, and best of all, their PD ring disappears and the "beep" assumes a steady metronomic beat that doesnt do anything but annoy the merc. This makes it very easy to grab their neck in case you run out of smoke or flash bangs.
The jammer does not "replace" the spy who dropped it's own sound blip. If you drop it, you will still be susceptable to PD. The jammer gives off its very own sound blip that the merc will mistake for a spy. The best way to use a jammer, as I can tell so far, is to drop it somewhere a merc cant find it and book it to a terminal far away from the jammer. That way the merc will be distracted by the hidden jammer while you have around 20 seconds (or more, Im not exactly sure), to run to a far away terminal and begin hacking.
Oh, and people quitting after their spy game has sadly been the norm since the PT days. No one wants to give eachother a fair chance to share a complete experience. My suggestion, if you know you're an honest player, get a squad together and host squad matches starting your team out as a spy. While there arent many squads now, there will be. Besides, Ive enjoyed a few squad games so far, and believe me, it is DEFINATELY the best way to experience DA.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
