hello all,

great board here, really helped me starting out.

been playing a week or so now and on my third mission. first two went well, sunk a few ships and such.

third mission i run into a 16 ship convoy. ended up being guarding by five escorts.

my question is about evasion. i have read on this board that waiting for an escort to speed up (im being pursued) is the time to turn hard right/left. at flank speed (im at about 70m depth) i cant hear any of this so i started waiting for the pinging to stop then make my turn. it worked the two times i used it.

question: Is that also reliable to wait until the pinging stops to then turn out of his path? I hear the pings increase in speed and get louder and then nothing. Is he over top of me at this point or still aproaching?

I dont know if i explained it well enough, very new to these type of sims but really loving it so far.
