Thread: Will you buy FC3 if it is anything like the second one? | Forums

I didn't like the second game as much as the first. There were many reasons; mainly because it was repeditive and the camps constantly respawned which just got annoying! I'm hopping FC3 wont be just a copy of FC2 with a new setting and a few extra features!

I love Far Cry 2, I'm still currently playing it both in single and multiplayer! It had it's poor executions, bbut I'm sure they fixed the proplems that plagued the last game.

The team have already gone on record to say that the game has many changes from FC2..

Till we know what those changes are, I would prefer not to be all doom and gloom and have talk of boycotting the game [for example]

Lets give the team a chance and see what they can come up with

Far Cry 2 was the most immersive experience. The replay value exceeds ANYTHING I have.
    All in a days work.

I would buy the second one again if they only made the controls better and repackaged it.

Controls are the main thing that I hated about FC2.

Fortunately, the demo already looks like it plays quite similarly, except much smoother.

if ubisoft happens to make FC3 to be like FC2, ill gladly pay 200 dollars for it AND switch to a PS3 if I have to

Im gonna say what i have always say here: FC2 was harsh and unforgiving, and it was fun as hell. It was way ahead of its time probably 5 years, technical-wise and content-wise. It created a mesmerizing experience which I would consider to be a lot like mountain biking than a video game. FC2 is my favorite game of all time

But it was not for everyone. Most people hate its guts and a certain ubi employee got fired for it. A few of us(arguably the adrenaline junkies here) would love to blast it on an expensive HDTV and surround sound(even if they don't have those) because everything about Far Cry 2 was just SO DAMN GOOD

Some will scoff at us, some will understand. We are merely just protecting the franchise from killing itself

If you want a definition of insanity, go play FC2 on infamous with bare minimum

"...show them what a messy horrible thing it is to kill a man, and then show them that you relish in it. Shoot to wound, and then execute the wounded, burn them, take them in close combat. Destroy their preconceptions of what a man is and become their personal monster."

I think it's safe to say that I will be buying it regardless.

FC2 was superb: the best game of all time imo, but it had some issues that put off a lot of gamers. If the franchise is to continue it needs to address those issues because Ubi are a commercial organisation and if FC3 doesn't make enough money, they'll pull the plug.

I'm hoping they keep all of the things that made FC2 awesome for many of us, but improve on those things that put off other gamers. Hopefully then it'll be a commercial success and we'll see an FC4 at a later date.

I'm looking forward to hearing what the team have in store for us.
