Thread: I love R.U.S.E but it's lonely.. | Forums

So, I've come across from EA (mainly CnC, Red alert 2, 3 etc). RUSE has no online lobby to talk to people, no clan system to team up with your 'mates' and well it's just a bit lonely??

I'm not really that much into gaming, I work / study / gym / girlfriend and walk my dog. But an integral part of my small gaming life is meeting people, forging a good alliance and taking on other people. It's just like there is really much of a 'community'.

Just wondering if anyone agreed with me or whether you lot think I'm just being pedantic.

    Cheers.

Yes, RUSE is lonely. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to split the player pools up by region (based on steam download location.) As a result the game feels like it is downright dead at times and some regions have massive waits to get a 1v1 ranked game.

The community is also kind of behind on the 'community' aspects you mentioned too.

They are supposed to be removing region locking soon, but a lot of damage was already done.

Still they should add some of these features into the game and make it feel less like a console designed UI.

i dont have much comparison, since the only game i lpayed online alot was supreme commander, but i must say that through steam and its groups i have way more contact to other players then with gpgnet.
in practically all my non 1v1 games i play with friends.

This has the most chance of success. There is always someone in there. And it is good to see some new people and have a chat

Between NY and Germany download regions, I can always find a game. Doesn't feel lonely at all.

Steam is the mechanism for community-building for RUSE, btw.
