Well Astro, that is nice for you. You should have sojme intresting stuff to talk about in lunch-breaks. Unfortunatly, in my kind of work, there aren't really women. Anything female is most likely my boss.

The grandson of a very skilled and famous Dutch PTO pilot (Asjes I thought) is now flying F-16's in our airforce. Flying must be in his family

Ummmmmmm... this may be a bit award and on an old thread, but you guys are talking about my mom... Col. Joseph Laughlin was my grandfather, and the only one of his daughters that works and has that picture up (I have it now) is her. So this is a bit strange...

If you wish I can forward a few screenshots of the skin I did of your Grandads plane. I still have it and it proved one of my more popular efforts.

Bo, I think it's fair to say it wasn't just because it's a great skin that it was popular, it was because everyone was impressed and wanted to see how in the world you actually managed to map the checker texture around the nose so well!

    Brilliant job!

Wiggums, this thread is really old so I'm just wondering if your Grandfather is still around and in good health?

    Best wishes, MP

    Mysticpuma,

I am Wiggums older cousin, and another grandchild of Col. Joe. I was bored at work and wanted to see if there was anything new on my grandfather and this thread popped up. After reading through, I noticed no reply was put to you guys about my grandfather. I wanted to let you know that Col. Joseph Laughlin passed away on Friday, February 17, 2006. While we knew he was sick and had limited time left with us, he was taken before we had a chance to say goodbye. He was an amazing pilot, husband, father, grandfather, and role model. I had only recently looked to him as my hero when he passed, but that was what he was, to us and to the men who flew with. Thank you guys so much for inquiring about him and his life. I hope that he is never forgotten. With people like you, maybe he never will be.

    Bless you!
