Thread: why is rainbow better than recon?? | Forums

  1. #1
Well, I've got to say that amongst a few devout fans of recon, it does seem like the games died a tad! Question I have to ask is why? With a tighter budget than I expected I can only buy one game with my new 360, but which one? So many people are saying they'd rather play rainbow caus its more fun, but I love the old recon games, and with all the customisation on the multiplayer, what the hell can go wrong with a game you can basically create yourself? I would like to hear some feedback on the main reason graw is supposed to suck and rainbow is better? P.s. I did hear there are some bugs with graw. Are they that bad??

Well, in Rainbow, you get to customize your character too.

I don't remember doing that when I played GRAW.

They are different types of games. Rainbow Six Vegas is a run 'n gun first person shooter similar to counter-strike or Halo. GRAW is a tactical third person shooter similar to SOCOM.

I personnally like GRAW and GRAW 2 alot better than Vegas but Vegas is still a great game.

The reason GRAW 2 is losing popularity is because it is basically the same game as GRAW 1. Barely anything new in terms of physics or gameplay. But I still love it.

Both are great games, you just have to figure out which one is right for you.

You can customize your guy in GRAW but not to the extent you can in Vegas.

ei: No pink tank tops or doo-rags. Only realistic stuff like helmets, caps, and shemaghs etc.

I noticed that in GRAW2 the multiplayer is different from the single player (I read somewhere that two different teams worked on the single player and multiplayer). The single player was pretty good but i did not like the multiplayer at all. The game play just wasn't good. In RB6V, both are equally good. The multiplayer is excelent and it has a great cover system. If i had to choose one I would get Rainbow Six: Vegas.

Yeah, the funny thing is an "open warfare" game is actually slower paced then whatever you would call Rainbow anymore. (I still ove Rainbow though.)

I find Rainbow is a much more intimate experience with your kill (and your team). You see your prey close up and many times engage in that lovely "dance of death" that involves a heated reload. My GRAW encounters are usually over in a blink which is a little more realistic IMO. Also because of the flamboyant customizations in RB6 you usually know who you're engaged with even when they're across the map. It just seems like the Rainbow chars have more personality. Realism vs. intmacy I go with the intimacy. I always was more touchy feely.

    Lol, feely

ANYWAY, I still feel that Rainbow is better.

I don't know if it is because I'm completely addicted to it (unlike GRAW), or if it's just the fact that I'm actually decent at this game.

I don't know how you would think an "open war" type game would be faster paced than an urban CQB game. It's supposed to be slow and methodical. Hence the name 'Ghost'.... And 'Recon'.
