Hi folk
After finaly getting the game patched I am now unable to register it.
Not knowing that Ubisoft connects the Keycode to the users account - effectivly locking them - I purchased my game second hand, hence the keycode has already been used.
I have contacted Ubisoft and now await their reply. In the meantime I would be interested to know if any person who had a Keycode problem, were able to get it solved by Ubisoft.
Thankyou

Tbh most games in this day and age have accounts.
So buying them second hand is just wasting you're money.
I doubt ubisoft would fix that prob, best bet is to get you're money back from were you bought it.

I have been playing computer games for 18 years and in that time have bought over 30 games - that does not include all the expansions to the Sims games. I have purchased my games from, Sierra, Atari, Microsoft, Electronic Arts - just to name a few.
Ubisoft is the first game producer that I have encountered, that assigns the keycode to an account.
Ubisoft did give me help in downloading the patch I needed, so I will wait on their reply. I do not expect to hear from them until at least. Tuesday [Australian week.] Hopefully the information I sent them, will convince them to unlock the keycode.
As you wrote XxTAFxX, it may well turn out to have been a waste of money. If that becomes that case, it will be a lesson well learnt and I will never again buy a second hand game.
At lease if I need and do decide to purchase a new DVD of the game, I will have the patches ready should the AutoPatcher give me trouble.
In the mean time I would still like a note for anyone who has had a positive result pertaining to the Keycode.

Na it's not just ubisoft nowadays.
You got company's like Activision/bioware/atari/Electronic Arts/Rockstar/Blizzard the list goes on tbh..
Most major company's have gone down this road.
Then there are games that req gfwl accounts or steam even battle net for Blizzard games.
Tbh i could name a load of latest games that req an account or having to reg the key.
That's not a bad thing imo,it's the drm or limited installs that is.
Also there are still a few games that do come out that only req the dvd as the drm but not many tbh.
In the future you will find console games doing the same thing as well.
It's more or less to stop us from selling them on,and second hand game shops making more money then the devs.
This is the only game i have come across that you have to be online for singleplayer mode though.
Tbh i hope they do have a heart and unlock the key for you,but as we all know all company's are out to make money.so them doing that will be very slim.

Thankyou </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Since ubisoft made no money from your transaction they have no reason to help you, if anything you'll be suggested to buy the game online for a CD Key to use.

I would suggest you return the game to where you purchased it,the person selling it was obviously aware that without the code the game was useless to anyone but them,1 key 1 account, there is no way around it unless you know this person personally and they are happy to give you their log in details to allow you to play.
All BB games as far back as Settlers 3 required you to input your serial number, and without the correct log in details you couldnt log in and play, most if not all game for years have needed that.

I am wondering whether it is okay to login in with my account on a friends computer. It seems like the logical thing to do. I go to his place every few months (as he lives a considerable distance from me) and then all I would need to do is to log in down his house, retrieve my saves (as they saved on server) and away we would go. Except I am a little hesitant because I don't know whether accounts are locked onto the keycode. If that is the case then perhaps this wouldn't be a good idea.
