Thread: Unreadable "Heroes of Might and Magic V Deluxe" DISK (UK edition) | Forums

  1. #1
Ok, I have received "Fedex pak" from UK today. Yes, it was my HOMAM 5 Collectors Editon!

Everything looks fine (I mean packaging and bonus content), but the the problem is, that the main H5 deluxe DVD is unreadable - Windows XP says:

Disk cant be read. Disk can be damaged or uses file system not combatible with Windows XP.

Since today i had NO problems with my Plextor drives (actualy, I have two - DVD-ROM and DVD-RW) nor Windows XP SP2.

The second disk (HOMAM II Gold PCCD) is funcional - there is no problem (both data & audio).

    What should I do?
    Thank you!

Well, I bought the game at shop.ubi.com!
Am I at UBI support page or not?

As far as I know, European law grants you a certain period of time (10 days?) during which you may return your purchase to the seller no questions asked.
But since you probably want to play the game, you might want to get in touch with customer support and solicit a replacement.
As I understand, the forums are where users help each other.

    I have a related problem ...

My DVD drive (Asus CB-5216A) can't read the DvD. Says it's blank.

I've never encountered this problem before with any other DvD's.

    Any suggestions?

    Well.

Now I know the problem is software-based.
Disk runs OK on other computers.

I think it has something to do with SecuROM.

StarBornDK do you have CureROM installed?

    I have the same problem
Both my computers at home do not recognise the disc and both are running windows media center
At work all the computers install the game perfectly and all have windows xp sp2
Maybe thats the root of the problem
    but i am not sure
    Can anyone help?
Can someone from Ubisoft admit that the game works on Media Center Windows?

I'm not a Ubi official but I can confirm that it runs on a Windows Media Center PC. But you MUST upgrade from the integrated graphics card on the motherboard. My specs: HP Media Center PC, Dual 4200+, 2 GB Ram, GeForce 6600, DVD-RW Lightscribe, SP2.
