Toz,
I don't know much about chocobos - you'd have to ask Tora about that... wherever she is. Any luck in that department?
Right now, I'm in Nova Romae trying to find out whatever happened to Cannax. My mermaid friend Murinna (she hates being called prissy, by the way) thinks she might be here. Unfortunately, the people here speak what sounds like either Italian or Latin - it's hard to tell.
Somewhere in this city, there's got to be an arena of some kind.

Wow...been a while... years, in fact.
Checking in, just letting you all know I still have a pulse. I might hang around for a while, even.
Somewhere, a soldier standing under an aqueduct got splashed with water. He looked up, and could've sworn he saw the tailfin of a very large green fish.
He shook his head. It really was time to lay off on the wine for a while.

You also keep an eye out for Yufi, a ninja girl. The sooner we find everyone, the sooner we can leave this place.
BTW, have you seen the three werewolf guys? They were supposed to be helping us take out the cult.
If you do see them, keep an eye on Tiny for me. Especially if Neko turns up.

Tora tapped her KI again. "Drat! Either there's some sort of interference or the battery has run down. Do KI's work on battery? Maybe I need to charge it in the Gahreesen KI dispensor? Nervermind. Either way this thing has stopped working."
Neko appeared to be focused on a blade of grass and didn't comment. Dorian seemed to have disappeared. Tora took no notice of this and continued, "Well at least we haven't completely lost communication. One sec guys, I'm going to astral project to Marae and see what's up." She relaxed her stance, concentrated, and whhoooosh!
Meanwhile Neko continued to intently watch the ground where Dorian had been standing a minute before.

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
Marae has found some napkins among the (thankfully shielded) provisions, and proceeds to clean herself of mud the best she can. She presses a few more into Tully's hands, and then turns her attention to her horse. She sighs: This is a much bigger job than she is equipped to handle.
"Duke, I think we're going to have to find you a river or something. Didn't we leave one back near the hotel?"
"Don't worry, Marae," the horse replies, "I've got it under control." He turns to the little hanyo. "Boppy, could I see you over here for a moment? There's something I want to show you."
"If you want to show me, then why do you have to see me?" asks the mog, confused. Nonetheless, he follows Duke a couple of yards away from the group.
Marae gets a clue and cries out, "Duke, no!" a moment too late.
There is a tremendous sound of shaking, and a yelp which might be dismay -- or might be delight.
There is also a sharp yell: Hey!
Marae assesses the scene:
Duke is clean.
Boppy is grinning, bouncing, and dripping mud.
Tora is looking decidedly put out, though not in the least bit muddy.
Marae does a double-take.
"Tora?!!!"
Marae, thank goodness! There you are! Tora hastily distances herself from the horse and mog, moving closer to the rest of the group.
"Tora, we've been looking all over for you! Are you OK?" Marae looks more closely at her friend. "Oh, heavens, you're all washed out!" Wait a minute, she thinks, this looks familiar... "Oh, you're astral projecting! I get it!"

“What’s astal project? Why is Cat Lady a ghost? Oh no, we killed her!” Boppy is a tad excitable at this point. Duke rushes to reassure him. “No no, that’s Tora and she’s astral projecting.”
“What’s that?”
“It means she’s, er, sending her ghost out but her body is okay… wherever she is.”
“Oh. Okay.”
Meanwhile with Tora and Marae:
Yeah, my KI stopped working so I thought I’d try this. Tora grins sheepishly, then looks around. Hey, where is everyone?
Marae is confused. “What do you mean, everyone?”
You know: Toz, TOOO, all the vikings, everyone?
“Oh. Well they’re probably back at the river. We decided to come find you while the vikings dug their boat to the sea.”
Tora gives Marae a sideways look and chooses to ignore this last part.
Right. Anyway, any luck finding me?
“Actually,” Marae says hopefully, “I was hoping you could give us some insight as to which direction we ought to be travelling in.”
Sorry Marae, I have no sense of direction. I thought you knew that?
“Oh well, it was worth a try,” Tully says, wandering up with a chicken-and-all-the-works sandwich in one hand. “I suppose we could try the sextet again.” He holds it up.
Tora gives him a You-Aren’t-Going-To-Poke-Me-With-That-Are-You?-Look and adds hastily, On the other hand, I could try to sense my body from here. I’ve never tried it before, but then I never needed to before since I can just stop projecting. Give me a moment.
Tora moves a little ways away and slowly begins to spin in place. After two and a half rotations she stops and points.
That way.
As luck would have it, this happens to be precisely perpendicular to the direction they’d been heading in.

Even more in the middle of Now Here than ever before...
The recently resoiled mog's ears perked up, and he looked in the direction Astral Tora was pointing, asking, "Sooo, we track in the direction Ghost-Cat-Lady's pointing now?"
Tully nodded, his chicken sandwich bobbing in his mouth as he did so. "More or less," he uttered between mouthfuls, "Once we have finished lunch, of course."
Marae's eyes rolled. "Everyone is finished with lunch but you, dear," she chided, "We will head out once we pack all the food away."
"My thoughts exactly!" Tully said with another bite into his sandwich. Over the next several minutes Marae repacked the provisions onto Duke's back despite Tully's continued assualt on them.
"Yipee!" Boppy cheered, leaping ahead of the group in the supposed direction of Tora, "I'll track her! Err, real her, since ghost her's already here."
I'm sure I could read between the lines,
if only the lines themselves were a little clearer...
TOOO looked up.

As the group heads out, Tora whooooshes back to her body.
Looking around, she notices two things: Neko is very intent on the ground, and Dorian has disappeared.
"Dorian? Neko did you see where he went?"
"Yessss." Neko hisses.
Tora looks down to where the cat is looking. "Oh dear," she says.
