Thread: Off-topic: Hard Boiled Is Such An Awesome Action Movie | Forums

I've recently watched Hard Boiled, a film by John Woo, which John Woo's Stranglehold, the video game borrows many elements from. The game "Stranglehold" is a good game, but the movie is a whole lot more. The shootouts are just beyond anything that I've ever seen, even in a video game. There has never been this much brutality with guns. It is exactly what makes this movie one of the greatest action movies of all-time. I used to believe that Die Hard 1 was the best action movie, but when I saw this, no. John Woo, the director, and Chow Yun Fat, the actor who has the main role, being Tequila, are both saw a remarkable team for an action movie. The other movies of John Woo's with Chow Yun Fat are awesome too, but I haven't seen any of those yet. I hope to watch The Killer and A Better Tomorrow, both, which offer John Woo and Chow Yun Fat and are one of the greatest action movies too.

Just incase anyone was wondering how I got the chance to see the movie, I went to Youtube.com, searched for Hard Boiled, and several results showed up. There are 13 different parts of the movie that are each seperate videos. Also, I'd like to point out to you that this is a Chinese and Hong Kong film, so the language that is spoken is Chinese, but the english subtitles help you know what the characters are saying. I hope that you will watch the movie (if you haven't done so already) and that you will tell me how it was for you. You don't have to watch it and can vote for "I haven't watched it yet", but it'll be so much worth it if you do decide to watch it.

I bought it on VHS back in the early 90's and enjoyed it a lot for the great action scenes, double handed guns, and John Woo style. I also checked out "The Killer" also starring Yun Fat, but didn't enjoy it as much.

Haven't played StrangleHold yet. Heard it was good.
