Well, i installed SC:PT the first time round - great, but i didn't have good graphics, and then my computer died. So, i bought a new computer, with all up to date hardware and everything, installed the game fine. Now, it won't start because there is 'CD/DVD Emulation Software' running, when I don't have any running! Can anyone help me?

maybe you have a CD/DVD burning software (like Nero Burning ROM), that the game takes as this "CD emulation software"...

CloneCD, Alchohol 120% or any virtual drives should be removed(=uninstalled). Really stupid. Or your dvd/cd player cant handle the security format.
Go onto google and search for Regclean, this is a free program for clearing up your registry. Uninstall your cd emulation software then run RegClean, this should solve your problem.
