I can't play Splinter Cell Conviction for the second time I installed the game. I installed it, downloaded the last patch, this window appears:
http://img191.imageshack.us/i/windowk.jpg
then nothing happens. In fact, I finished it, but I formatted my computer, and now i can't play.

Which copy of the Game do you have, Retail disk or STEAM/digital download version ? Because STEAM will auto-update the game, when the Client restarts.
It looks like the patching process gets stuck during the update. Are you updating the game via the UBI Gamelauncher, or manually applying the Patch ? Close all background programs, and disable any Windows Firewall for the time being....
Try to manually apply the latest patch i.e. 1.04 from here, if needed, and if you have a Retail Copy of this game.

Which OS do you have ? The UBI GameLauncher can also be downloaded from here, if needed. But first remove all the previous file entries from your PC, including all folders, and then re-install and update it:

It's retail, and I only let the PC install the game, then the game download the last patch (Ubi Gamelauncher), and then appears that window.
I use Windows XP and I manually installed the patch, and stills the same. Nothing happens.
It's strange, because as I said, the first time (before formating) I completed the game, and I have the same computer.
I did the last (removed everything) and the same window appears.

Ok, it looks like the Patch has already been installed for this game, to some extent, and even manual updating won't be of much help, imo.
As a side note, when you get this Error window, can you click on the 'Advanced' button, and also have a look under the 'Technical Log' option, for more details (if this is possible) ? Maybe we can get more info, and cause about this Error here.
Are you using the same internet connection as before, or you have changed some settings at your end ? Any Router/port settings ? Any antivirus software setting ? Did you install any additional Software on your OS, after doing a format ?
Anyway, try to re-install the full Game again from scratch, if this is possible. But first you must remove all the previous Game data, all Game install folders and entries from this PC. Also uninstall and remove the UBI Gamelauncher file.
Manually delete the entire 'Ubisoft Game Launcher' folder, e.g. from C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher. Also remove it from Control Panel----> Add/Remove programs.
You can also try deleting the 'Registry' entries of the Launcher, if needed, and then do a reinstall of the Game Launcher file. i.e. remove it from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ubisoft\Ub isoft Game Launcher (for 64 bit OS), or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher.
After removing all the Game data, try to do a FRESH install of the Game, but this time Manually update the game as told above. Avoid the auto-update, if it is creating a problem.
Btw, if others are also facing this problem, or this has been a known issue lately, then something else needs to be done.......
By any chance, did you alter the Windows Hosts.txt file, which can be found here i.e. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. ? And can you access the following URL ? What results do you get ?

In advanced appears this:
http://img10.imageshack.us/i/advancedf.jpg/
In the URL:
95.211.115.4
95.211.115.5
95.211.115.7
94.236.62.145
94.236.62.146
I didn't touch any file of Windows, any modification was done. And I re-installed the game, manually the last patch, deleted the Game Launcher, cleaned the registry, and it's the same.
I use the same Internet connection, i don't touch the router or any configuration, and this PC is mine, so nobody touches it.
The only piece I changed was the motherboard (I don't think that's the problem), and that's was the reason for formating, obviously I installed all my games and programs for the new OS (the same as before).
Thanks for your help.

Just to clarify this, did you do a FRESH re-install of the full game and the GameLauncher file again, AFTER my reply i.e. after you read my above post ?
Can you play the Game without applying any of the PATCHES ? Don't patch/update the Game, just Launch it by clicking on the Game's executable file (EXE), and see what happens.
That URL which I gave should contain the below lines/addresses, but I doubt this is the cause of your problem:
216.98.51.199
216.98.51.201
216.98.51.202
216.98.51.203

To your first question: Yes, before and after your answer.
And when I try to launch the game with the EXE, nothing happens. I didn't install the patch this time (I re-installed the game again). So, I don't know what's the problem.
The Game Launcher only says "Please start the game you want to play instead".

Alright, then what could prevent the Game from starting ? Doing a Format of your PC, shouldn't be the cause of this.....I'm also not sure whether resetting the DNS host will solve this problem, 'cause you have done a Fresh OS install. Are you behind a Proxy Server ?....
Btw, can you play All other Games on this PC right now ? Don't play those titles which require this Internet Connection, under the new DRM. Try playing some other Old PC game, if possible ?

I use Steam, but only Conviction uses DRM (and it's the only game I can't play after formating). I can play the other games (L4D, RE5, Magicka, Half Life 2, etc). In fact, this Saturday I bought Dead Space 2, and I had no problems playing or activating it.
I finished the game, I'm not angry, but this sucks. I wanted to play again.
