Thread: Correct notes missed | Forums

Once in a while, the system tells me I'm missing the note, yet my fingers are in the correct place and I am strumming a the right time.

For instance, the game will indicate fret 3 on the low E string. I put my finger on fret 3 on the low E string and strum at the right time. The indicator either says I missed the note, or indicates I need to move up/down a fret.

Is there anything I can do to help rectify this? Is it my finger position within the fret? Do I need to change the pickup setting? (Fender Squire, three single pickups...).

Thanks for any suggestions. Haven't seen any mention of this online yet, so am assuming it is user error.

To clarify some... this behavior is consistent through the song when it occurs. But if I come back to the same song another time, I may not see the behavior... Currently experiencing it on the SoundGarden song regularly...

And of course after I post my question I come across a similar post with the same/similar issue: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1009359/m/6901026659

it seems that a lot of people get that result while playing a drop d song. from what I have read and experienced, try pressing a little lighter while playing on the 6th string. see if that helps.

I'll try that on the drop d tuned songs. But, I've seen this with standard tuning too. I'll try it there too - if I'm lucky it *may* just turn out I'm a little heavy handed..

I had this problem a few times, and it was always cured by re-tuning my guitar. It seems that the 'tuning check' isn't sensitive enough to catch it 100% of the time.

A good tip is to always tune 'up' to the note when tuning. So, if you're tuning down to drop D, adjust it so that you're below the note, then work your way up towards it. That should help your guitar stay in tune.

Also, cheap guitars can have problems with intonation. That means the tuning might be inconsistent over the length of the neck.

In order to check your guitar's intonation, you should tune the guitar, then re-check your tuning by fretting the string at the 12th fret, playing what should be the same note.

If your tuner is saying you're in tune when playing open, but out of tune at the 12th fret, you need to adjust your guitar's intonation.

i had this problem too and im not sure about your guitar but mine has switches on it which can change the sound/pitch/tone of the strings so you might have to mess with those a little bit and see which the game registers best.

i sugest turning up your tone knob to more trebble and increasing your guitar volume if you can, also maybe switch to the more trebbley pickup setting if you can.

some times lower notes can be hard to pick up even on actual battery powered stand alone tuners,
