gothic 3 is great, but if you want a game like this one , play arx fatalis. its a little old but its one of the few existing first peron rpgs (plus arkane made it). its probly my second favorite game now , besides dark messiah. its has a little more emphasis on the rpg element, the combat is less exciting , but it has a few cool things, like the casting system , u draw runes in the air in combinations to create spells, kinda nifty.

yeah! i love first person games like these, im not into bf2,cod, and the likes of frag fested linear, just shoot an shoot, they so boring & allways the same, but dark messiah has bought something new to the games world, before this game,my fav games were half life 2 & oblivion, the thing that has the edge over half life 2 & oblivion is so many ways to kill, a build system thats not to much to deal with like oblivion,i mean with oblivion you end up going into the menu more than your play the darn game,& its a bit boring at times standing talking to every person you see to solve quests, but i did like some of oblivions game elements over messiah, one point is the alchemy was awsome able to mix potions & become stonger in elements & upgrade while doing the same acrions, its a bit more realistic than messiah for that,i mean i thought it was a silly element for dark messiah to gain points for completing a quest for uprades, not to clever in the realism stakes.

dark messiah could have been a killer game if only they made the skill tree better & upgrades should be made by doing something for instance combat skills should be able to be upgraded for fighting lots same as oblivion, and there wasnt enough stuff in the skill tree on dark messiah & the magic system was a slight bit weak in terms of choice.

But on the other hand the combat & physics were a blast! probably the best combat system iv ever played in terms of swords & shields in first person mode. i cant fault the combat no matter what

I was basically looking for a game similar to this with swords shields & magic but has to be a first person, not really a fan of third person games. but i doubt theres anything as good as dark messiah yet?

ahhh thx mate, that mount and blade looks really awsome, but is it first person? i defo think sword games are better in first person mode...kinda think third person is old school.

huh!! i just checked and the full game is only 53mb??how can that be good ..

haha i just played mount & blade the begining in the town.. graphics are a bit sick to what im used to... when i said i wanted a game like dark messiah i meant with descent eye candy & up to date stuff, sorry i wasnt more to the point but thx for the thought!!

    mount and blade 53mb wooooot

Anymore games to rival dar messiah or oblivion out there? someone help

Have you ever played The Chronicles of Rid****: Escape From Butcher Bay? That game has really awesome first person melee combat. But it's very different from Dark Messiah because EfBB's combat is based completely on reflexes instead of tactics and utalizing the environment like Dark Messiah.

Yeah Project Offset looks pretty cool. Has anyone heard about the game called Elveon? That game looks like it will have an amazing combat system. The combat in Assassin's Creed looks pretty cool too.
