We need more information. What is the rest of your computer specs? What patch do you have?

I've seen firewalls cause that but in this game usually you don't get that far.

Well, My computer specs are really good, They're not the problem I think, I have:

    AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Prosessor
    1024 MB Ram
    500W Powersupply
    250 GB Hardisk

I play farCry through a router, so I have wireless network. And the router has a firewall. Do you think that has something to say??

Is your Router's "Port Forwarding" set up correctly? If not, you MAY see strange Multiplayer problems, i.e. freezing, being kicked, unable to verify CD-Key, etc.

Here's the UBISoft Support page describing the ports required for Far Cry Multiplayer.

    Hope this helps.

My Router allows ONLY 20 port forwarding entries and DOESN'T allow port ranges to be entered, which is VERY restrictive!

To get round this, I've had to set my Router to DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) mode, which exposes ALL my PC's ports to the web, and use an internal Software Firewall "behind" it to do advanced packet filtering. For most games, I create a Firewall "Rule" that allows the game .EXE file access both ways via the required ports, ONLY when the .EXE is running.

WARNING: Since DMZ mode exposes ALL ports, you need to have a VERY well configured Software Firewall! The acid test is to go to grc.com (Shields UP!) and run an "All Service Ports" scan. If you can achieve a "Perfect TrueSTEALTH Rating" (ALL ports stealthed and NO reponse to PING attempts), you're secure.

    Hope this helps.

Okay, here is the summary of the test:

GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2005-10-07 at 22:31:52

Results from scan of ports: 0-1055

    0 Ports Open
    0 Ports Closed
    1056 Ports Stealth
    ---------------------
    1056 Ports Tested

ALL PORTS tested were found to be: STEALTH.

TruStealth: PASSED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,
    - NO unsolicited packets were received,
    - NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.

    --------------------------------

    Do this looks fine??

That's the SAME report I get, a "Perfect TruSTEALTH Rating" EVERY time!

Your system will NOT respond to ANY casual attempt to probe it. This means that, from the viewpoint of a casual hacker, you DON'T exist on the web! The IDEAL situation to aim for!

    BIG thumbs up!
