Well that didn't really explain it all... know of any screenshots of this aura I should have got when I paid for the limited edition version - Which I asked for specifically because the demo had the hero trail checkbox - I got a cloth map but I guess the aura comes with yet another version.
I'd rather a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

    Ok
    2 different things
aura-thing under your hero that is there from day one.
trail-thing behind your hero that is there when hero gets better in troops and lvl's.
The misterious aura under the hero that should be only in the Colector Edition (from Europe) is a blue circle under your hero.
Once upon a time there were Heroes, Heroes everywhere,
Now the time has come again for Heroes to rise again.

The Hero "trail" is in all versions. For some reason the language translation got messed up, and the checkbox for enabling the hero trail in the options menu should really say, enable special aura.

I've seen screenies of this special aura, (though I don't have any links offhand) and to be honest... I prefer the ones in the regular version. It's the same thing, just graphically a little different. You're not missing out on anything with that respect, in my opinion.

Yeah I guess, apart from the extra $ I put down on a limited edition version thinking I was paying for the extras

    Okay so here's a screenie..

So.. I downloaded a patch to get me playing with all the CE extras the only difference I can see is that I have to set this to one to make it work:

    setvar prefer_special_hero_trail = 0

Can anyone confirm that's all you need to do to activate the special aura?

Btw: the aura has a sharper image and rotates both counter and clockwise while the normal only rotates counter OOooo! coolness factor +10

I guess they didn't feel like calling the option monotony. Who would want to have 1 aura instead of 6? Sigh, another company pulling **** to make money...instead of a good product. At least it came with Heroes III and IV.
