I've come back for talk on Rayman Origins because I have a great interest in this game.
I think this game looks spectacular, one particular thing takes my interest, Rayman's portrayal.
I like it, I understand the criticism, really I do, but look at it this way.
Rayman didn't really have much personality before, looknig back on it all, that is what i see, now I like cartoony characters with exaggerated personalities, Rayman in Rayman origins fits the bill perfectly, with his goofiness, sillyness and slapstick humour.
Rayman previously not only kept changing his portrayal, effectively being a different character each time, and none of them really 'bring something' to the series, I think a characters personality should be a gimmick, a selling point, like Sega did with Sonic.
'Personality as gimmick' is Something I think this Rayman has.
important
I understand that, if I have been told correctly, Rayman will become more mature by the end of the game, so me expecting him to be as goofy as we've seen so far is no good, and I'm OK with that, I might actually prefer it if it was laid off somewhat, and I don't think he can change that much in one game so I think continuing from that would be perfect.
