I was reading today in a magazine, sorry can’t remember but it’s a UK gamers Mag and yes I’m the one standing bored reading the Mag without buying it while I wait….

Anyway it has the info on release dates for 2005 and a comment and it read similar to this

“Silent hunter III 28th February- The Dev team are running silent and we suspect the game has slipped, no news is never good newsâ€Â

Lets hope we get some info soon…..

If it means that SH3 is being done right rather than being rushed to meet some arbitrary deadline, then surely that's good news.

I'd rather wait until next Christmas if it means that we'll get the best sub sim ever. If meeting the deadline means we'll get an unfinished rush job, then I say they should delay, delay, delay, until it's done right.

Not good. Not good at all.
What happened to the 25th anyway? Don't say it's already slipping.
But this is what happens when we don't get any news, some people get depressed, some panic. But the result is never a positive one. We need to be kept in the loop as to what's happening, otherwise we think that the dev team is just losing interest in the game. If that is the case, I doubt the game will be released.
If only we had some news...

    Like Hitler did with SeaLion?

If it is further delayed it is because it is being "dumbed-down". I will take a big dump in the box and return it.

We last heard from the developers just over a week ago. They probably took a Christmas/New Year break. They may have only started work yesterday, and a week without news is hardly unprecedented. Finally, only a very stupid game developer would just trash a game 7 weeks before its release date, after months of work. It's money down the drain. Ubisoft didn't get where it is today by throwing perfectly good almost-finished games in the trash.

How do you figure? Delay NEVER causes a game to be dumbed-down. Releasing a game too early to meet an arbitrary deadline ALWAYS results in a game being dumbed-down.

Let's keep some perspective here. We had a week without news just a month ago. All it meant was that the website guy took a vacation. For a change, let's just assume that the sky ISN'T falling.

Nah, they wouldn't dare not release it. But if they get bored of the project, they can easily just stop working on it and wait for the release date to release what they have right now, which isn't the finished product.
Has it been only a week since the dev team last got in touch? It seems like an age. But the last update was a simple Merry Christmas, that tells us nothing about the game, whether it's on schedule or anything, and I wouldn't really call that concept art we had before that a real update. I think they only released that because they were feeling guilty about not giving us anyhting for a while. I mean, that concept art was not made for us specifically, it was just some quick drawings they did to try and come up with a 'feel' for SH3.
