Thread: Map Editor | Forums

Ok so the map editor is assumed to be included with the game right? I think that there is a lot of room to make it more intuitive for the newbies out there. (maybe a timeline type system rather than this event occurs on day 2 of every week/month/year)

Any mapmakers out there have any real gripes from Homm 4?

I enjoyed making a few fortress and inferno campaigns, and a HIV chaos campaign - I surely want an editor, and a powerfull one, so you can make your own castles there. There is a 3D-modeling program built in, and that is great.

Ok this is my best idea yet:

RANDOM MAP GENERATION.... just like in the skirmish mode of AOE or many other games....

that would be the best feature to include IMHO

what if you try something new: Read!!
    Yes!
It is easy just scroll down and look topics and for example select one of those pillion map - related topics and add your ideas there?.

Sorry about cynicism, its 06:22 here and i just came to job.

What connection does rmg has to editing?

I'm OK with the former editors, the only thing - in hIV you weren't able to scroll, I want the scrolling back.

Dregonar we don't have any screens of a world editor yet, what you saw were some of the tools the dev people are using.
I doubt the map editor will come with a 3d model program.

However that doesn't mean we should give up hopes on it being a very powerfull tool .
The more easy to mod the game the longer it will last, HURRAY for WC3 and its IMMENSELY powerfull map editor.

Yep, the program they are using on the screenshot is maya, a 3d program that cost thousands of dollars to buy (maya 7 cost 2.099,00 EURO), and takes at least a year or two of learning to master decent. I doubt very very very much they will include that with the H5 editor
