Hello everybody i have a problem and i need help. I have played ravenshield a long time now. Yesterday when i was playing i suddenly received this enourmously high ping. i usually dont even try to join a server if the ping is over 100, but yesterday on those servers i use to play in and usually gives me 30-50 in ping they gave me an incredible 750 ping or more. I have a cablemodem and 1mbt download speed, I can understand that the ping maybe rise once in a while, but this is ridiculous, what can i do about this? still have 750 in ping or more. :-(

It's likely one of three things:

    1. You've downloaded and installed some piece of software which is happily eating your internet connection. Turn off all other programs before launching the game, including file-sharing software.

    2. You're networked and your buddies/family are downloading on the networked machine, and therefore eating your bandwidth,

    3. Your cable ISP has gone and done something stupid to their service.

I would check what software is running, check my network (if applicable), and call my ISP, in that order.

Actually, Rebooting can help. If you have a router, Reboot it. (You know, unplug, count to 5, plug back in...) Check for wear and tear on your cable. Check for updates on your NIC (network card). And finally, check your cable/DSL modem for activity before you connect.
