Can Anyone tell me how can I remove the damned Anti-virus of my pc. Its ruining my PC for quite sometime now. Ive uninstalled it but the folders are still there. Ive tried on regedit but nothing is happening. Deleting it wont do any good.
It really slows my games and other applications.
Any suggestions?

To ghostofmanila,
It is foolish to remove your anti virus software from your computer as it is in most cases the front line in defence to stop problems.
Let us know what OS you are running and more than likely it's another program running in the back ground causing problems. Are you running any sort of tweak XP program and it may also be spy ware you have on your PC. Below is a link too two small program to remove spy ware.
Ad-aware http://www.ad-aware.com/
Spybot http://security.kolla.de/
I also suggest you reinstall your anti virus software and check for virus and get back to us for further help.
EDIT: Can you tell us what anti vuris software your were running and can you post your dxdiag.
<font color="#00FF00">Dxdiag</font>
start/run/ type in dxdiag click ok/ when it has finished loading/system tab/ down the bottom click SAVE ALL INFORMATIOM to desktop/copy and paste that in the forums.
<font color="#00FF00">Copy/Paste</font>
You may know how to do this already, so overlook it if you do.
To copy/paste left click the left mouse button and while holding the left mouse button down drag it to the left then up the page until every word is highlighted. Then on any part of the highlighted words right click and a little window pops up and with the left mouse button click COPY.
Now come to the forums and place your thread for your problem and in the white space, right click the mouse button and another small window pops up. With the left mouse button click the word PASTE and your dxdiag is copy/pasted

In addition to Snipe's advice (especially SpyBot and AdAware):
You can stop programs from starting with Windows:
Click start>run and type: msconfig
Click the Startup tab in the new Window and uncheck programs that shouldn't start up with Windows (which is most them).
It's not recommended to uninstall the antivirus software so leave this one and see how the performance is after the "clean up". If the system is still slow, then disable the antivirus in msconfig as well.
Whenever you're not gaming, just start the antivirus (or any of the programs you disabled via msconfig) from the start menu.
Read your post the other day re new RAM and that'll help for sure. This freeware program optimizes your physical RAM:

When you get an anti-virus software, go through all the available options and features of the program, so you'll knkow the basics of it and what switch does what. Turn off all the useless services, especially scheduling as that is usually a big resource hog that strikes without a warning.

Actually I already got a Norton anti virus software installed on my PC. The anti-virus that I want to remove is my PCillin.
Ive tried to reinstalled and unistalled it but I cant remove it.

You mean that in registry>hklm>software there's no mentioning of PC-cillin?
It should have an uninstall.exe.
Just a shot: Disable Norton in your msconfig (see above post) Then uninstall PC-cillin or first reinstall in same directory and then uninstall using the program's own uninstall. You can then manually remove any left-over folders in that directory.
Sometimes an antivirus program recognizes another antivirus program as a virus, therefore my suggestion to disable Norton.
Good luck.

I would give it a shot!
