the KaZimshadov-Kasparov match is 12 games. Kasparov should win if he prepares well and does not understimate his opponent. I think Kramnik will beat Leko...and the match will not be a drawfest as many have said..Kramnik by 2..+4 -2 = 6 is my prediction...I think then...ill go out on a limb...Kramnik defeats Kasparov again to remain world champ...he's too solid...
By the way,,I tsill cant' play online...and im so PO'd by this![]()
Kramnik too solid are you kidding? He was being murdered by Sergey Karjarkin the youngest GM ever. (Or did Magnus break his record I don't know) And he only prevailed when he missed an easy mate in 22 so says Kasparov. lol. But you could be right about Leko not being in a drawfest surpisingly because Leko got a whole new opening repertoire and is playing aggressive openings such as teh Sveshnikov. Kaszy is a fluke though and will be a rollover for Kasparov. Kasparov has a few opening novelties up his sleeve that he's been saving for Kramnik. It is rumoured that Kaspy found a novelty that in the Berlin Defense that will make Kramnik scream.
the real world champ must defeat his predecessor. Bobby Fischer was the last to achieve this. He is the reigning WORLD CHAMP.
i think soon Judit Polgar will beat them all!!!

Dreamgirl83,
I'd love to see Judit win it some day...she is incredible. I saw Kasparov beat Anand at the World Trade Center for the PCA title. We had VIP tickets, Kasparov came out after the game and answered questions and gave a brief analysis of the game. He was unbelievable. I think he still has a few good years left. I remember during the game some masters were trying to figure out what Kasparov had to do. They had all kinds of crazy varitions. My buddy who was rated 1600 was like 'excuse me...doesn't he need to bring his king back to the kingside?' They all brushed him off, sure enough next move he starts bringing the king over to the kingside! After the game he's giving his analysis and one of the grandmasters asks about one of there variations..'Gary wouldn't 36.Bxe5 followed by blah blah blah.'
Gary gives him a strange look and says 'No it's obvious from this position that in order to hold the draw the King needs to come back to the king side to hold the pawn.'
'But Gary..'
'No, no no,, there is no other way, the king needs to come back' and he totally blows the guy off.
'My buddy feels a pat on his shoulder and a guy says...'Good call' , we turn around...it was Boris Spassky! It was unreal, everyone was there, De Firman, Wolf, Spassky, King, Short.
The level of comprehension that Kasparov has is absolutley amazing. Comparing a master to him is like putting a little leaguer up against Roger Clemmens.
Sorry for my long winded story,,,,but I love that one!![]()
Wow!!!! That is the most amazing story ever! Spassky, Kasparov, Anand!!!!! World Championship!! It is a pity that regular non chess players don't even know any names besides Fischer if him. Well back to the subject Judit will probably fade away from chess unfortuantely because of her pregnancy and a year and a half off of chess will cause you to be extremely rusty. It's amazing by the age of 22 Kasparov knew more about the game then anyone in history. Kasparov believe it or not is getting better and better and human grandmasters will someday advance so far in chess in positional breakthroughs that computers will be left in the dust. Imagine Steinitz playing a top computer today he would probably lose a match like (+1 -11 = 12) But any modern super GM can probably win a 24 game match against even Hydra only if it gives them sufficient amount of rest between games. Anyways Kazy is a fluke, Kramnik is a coward, Leko is lost, and Kaspy will rule FIDE, PCA, and soon become president of Russia (not joking he is even head of a democratic party in Russia and thinks Putin is a dictator and was even on CNN for not chess but politics)
Judit is pregnant? That makes me sad...but seriously, is she with someone in the chess world? Since I stopped getting Chess Life, I'm in the dark about everything!
If you ever get a chance to go to a world champion match you've got to do it, it was amazing. The VIP ticks were an extra 20 or 30 buck I think, but it was great. Show the VIP pass, and pow! No waiting in line, front row seats, a private VIP room, stocked with free drinks and sandwiches, also a Gm was analyzing the ongoing game in the room on a demo board. After the Match Kasparov came into the room to answer our questions est. I hope another World Championship gets played in the USA. THere were a ton of Masters and GM's there. Spassky, DeFriman, King, Ashley, Pandolfini, Roman, and more I can't remember, you could walk right up and talk to them, it was very very cool. Spassky was cool, very friendly, a real class act. Sorry didn't mean to ramble!![]()

Yes chess players have social lives too! From Kasparov to Leko they have wives and some even children. But I don't know if Judit is married to someone in the chess world. I'm not sure but I think its some Hungarian model could be wrong though.
