    Hi All,
I have a Lite-on DVD/CD burner and the DVD version of this game, I was getting the "wrong cd inserted" , but, I can now finally run the game from the burner now that I have un-installed "SONIC MY DVD" copy software .
It was only after reading another thread that I thought of doing this.
Can't believe it has taken me nearly an hour and a half to get this working though!!

I had the exact same problem with COD after upgrading from win 98 to XP Pro. and the Help guy told me to do this:

Try putting your drives in PIO mode then installing the game (you can later use this instructions to reverse this change).
    1. Right click on the my computer icon on your desktop and select properties
    2. Click on the hardware tab
    3. Click on the button that says device manager
    4. Click on the plus next to "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
    5. Right click on "Primary IDE controller" and select properties
    6. Click on the advanced settings tab
    7. There are two lines in here that say "Transfer mode" (one under device 0 the other under device 1)
    8. Change those drop down menus to read "PIO Only"
    9. Hit ok at the bottom of this window
    10. Repeat steps 5-9 for the "Secondary IDE Controller"
    11. Close the device manager and reboot your system
    12. Try installing the game again.
    13. If this fails to help you please restore your drive settings to their original values

it worked for me so maybe it'll work for you.
