    For greater "realism", the very neat audio/video binoculars should have a user-accessible option to turn off the green enemy-locator parentheses and only rely on what is visible through the binoculars, together with the corresponding audio cues.

    Good idea. I too would like to have an option to play Far Cry without the locator. Project IGI would have been way too easy (and crappy) if it had that locator thingy.

    *bump*

    This thread needs more attention. IMHO, the enemy locator really needs to be optional.

    Not to be too much of a geek when it comes to military equipement.. but some digital bionoculars do infact ID enemy by examining one pixel in relation to the next pix.. when it detects a change over an area within the view. It highlites that and will track it across your view. Problem is, the bionculars have to be tripod mounted and unmoving for them to effective identify movement.

    Either way it's cool stuff. And in the game, it's very helpful to ID that damn sniper in the hill.

    I think the binoculars should also sway around realisticly like when you look through the sniper scope while running or standing.

    I agree. I like to look with the binoculars but I hate to tag the enemies, so I cant use them when I play seriously. To me it makes the game way to easy to know exactly where everyone is. I like to be suprised.

    Sure but still should be OPTIONAL. We like to customize to make more of a challenge. Might be more interesting if these devices were battery powered and/or prone to damage by a bullet.

    I THINK I HAVE A SOLUTION!!!

    Tell me if these numbers work on your rig. I changed the following values in the file Far Cry Demo\Scripts\Default\Hud file.

    MoTrackerLayer.lua

    StayTime=0
    FadeTime=0
    FadeOutTime=0
    TrackerSize=0
    MaxTrackeSize=0

    TrackSpeed=0
    MaxTrackedobjects=0

    I have the Hanglider/3Dperson/water reflection mod in.
