I dont know if this problem has been resolved yet, but I normally HATE playing multiplater on games because of the split screen.
Halo solved this by having the two players need to occupy the same space simotaneously.
The problem I have is that the split screen distorts the image, thus squishing it.
It totally screws up my sense of space on the game, and makes it less enjoyable to play.
My friend bought a widescreen TV.
We tried playing Half-Life: Decay on it...2 player.
But the aspect ratio of the game had already messed up because the screen was a 16:9 On top of that, the split screen made it doubly squished.
I know X-Box has a feature that lets you adjust the aspect ratio, but do you think games could develop a setting so when you play split screen on a normal size screen, each players' half adjusts itself so not as to become out of proportion?
This way each player gets an uncomprimised view of the field?

<marquee>SMITH: Why, Mr. Anderson? Why do you do it? Why get up? Why keep fighting? Do you believe you're fighting for something? For more than your survival? Can you tell me what it is? Do you even know? Is it freedom? Or truth? Perhaps peace? Yes? No. Could it be for love? Illusions, Mr. Anderson. Vagaries of perception. The temporary constrects of a feeble human intellect trying to deperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. And all of them as artificial as the Matrix itself, although only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. You must be able to see it, Mr. Anderson. You must know it by now. You can't win. It's pointless to keep fighting. Why, Mr. Anderson Why Why do you persist?!..................................NEO: Because I choose to.</marquee><center><font color=#00FF00>"Everything that has a beginning has an end."</center>
