I didn't realise this until I saw a thingo on GameSpy saying "Doom turns 10 today."
Since Myst turned 10 on Sept 24 this year, I'd like to bring to the public's attention a great milestone: Myst was out before Doom.

Or Warcraft for that matter. Or any of those classic games. Myst was there earlier. Quite amazing considering the graphical standard compared to the 4-pixel wide characters you saw in Doom.

Kudos to Myst and Cyan for 10 years of reigning in the adventure genre!

Heh, I'd actually be shocked if GameSpy pointed out Myst's birthday.

The first three games seem to be one that, supposedly, "true gamers" hated.... sort of like how The Sims is regarded today.

WOW! I had a hard time believing that Doom was 10 years old that I had to look it up on id Software's homepage. I remember playing when i first played Myst, Doom, and Warcraft! Man this makes me feel old even though Iâ'm only 21. Thankfully, the ending has not yet been written...

if myst was rendered in real time on the computers back then it would have had to been about "4-pixel wide" too.
