Just got Far Cry about a month ago and since then I have been playing it whenever I get some free time.
The problem I have been having is that certain places my Cryvision causes everything to just go black...I could be in a dark hallway with a few Trigens or something and because my Cryvision isn't working in that particular area I end up having problems with it.
Current spot I'm having issues with is in the Temple, the first room the roof collapses and 3 of those invisible guys with guns show up, in this room my Cryvision won't work so I end up going from full heal and full armor to just a bit of health because I can't see them.
I talked to a friend of mine that plays and they said they never had any issues with Cryvision going completely black (including when it works and I begin shooting it goes black).
Does anyone know how to fix this or what the problem could be? The game runs perfectly fine, it is the only issue I'm having.
Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Sounds like a problem with video card driver. I use NVIDIA FX5900 and tried at leas 10 drivers before I found the one that lets me use Cryvision with the same settings. Do you use ATI or NVIDIA? Post your specs!

ATI Radeon 9800 128meg Vid Card.

Well, as I suggested before, try different ATI drivers. As an example, I am posting a pic taken with one of the drivers that I tried. Do you see strange yellow squares? That is what wrong ATI or/and nVidia driver can do.
As for Cryvision, I used to have the following problem: as soon as I turned it on, images would become brighter as I expected, but they were colorful. FPS would drop to 1-2, total mess! A new driver fixed ALL problems. So good luck, and keep us posted!

Im having the same problem buti have the most recent drivers for my ATI Radeon 9200 (Excalibur if that means anything)but so far the only palce it wont work is in Control.

Latest driver does not necessarily mean the best one. The idea is to try different drivers and see which works the best with YOUR settings, i.e. if a driver allows me to set environment quality to extra high but not the water with out artifacting, so I will definitely stick with it, since I use water on med or low anyway. So do not believe what they tell you about the latest driver.
To Fullmetalhead, do you mean that you get the same artifacts just like on the picture, or do you have the same issues with Cryvision?
If the first is true, try different quality settings, such as water, shadows, lightning. As I have noticed, artifacts appear when setting are extra high. Good luck!
