Spy traps do not beep or have any lights on them in my unpatched SC:PT 1.0
The Proximity Mines do both beep and have a red light on them in 1.0
Does that mean spy traps do now beep in the 1.1 patch? What about a light?
Spy traps never beep. They only emit a laser beam visible in infrared.
The proxy mines beep, though.
yeah, spy traps dont beep at all, that's why they're so useful. If they beeped then you'd lose the whole point of having them...

Yea, place one in 1.1 and now they do beep. My friend wins. Seriously they beep now it's strange and they didn't say anything about that when i was gonna d/l the patch..... weird.
Hm, I just tried this out, and they do beep.
Maybe just the mercs can hear it? I'll get together with a friend and try if a spy can hear it as well.

Umm, spy traps have always beeped for me in the full verison even in 1.0.
I don't think they did in the demo though.
Spy traps don't have any flashing lights though, and they blend into shadows well. So you still have to use thermals to locate them, the beep just tells you they're nearby, but you can't tell exactly where.
What about laser mines? Do they:
Beeb/Have light/See with thermal
Have light/See with thermal
See with thermal
And of course if you place them in the light the spy can see them anyway. Sure wish the manual had more info on all these cool gadgets.
