I thought i would post this due to how many seem to be suffering with performance issues with farcry.


To give a good idea how to analyse technical difficulties between different systems specs, i thought it would be a good to post your P.c setup details for farcry here working or non working reliably for you.


Include processor.ram size and manafacturer,motherboard setup and manafacturer,bios setup etc,Operating system,video card and manafacturer,Harddisk,xp tweaks etc.



Hope this helps those with problems with Farcry.


Anyway here,s my setup:

Amd 2000mhz cpu,512ddr(pc2100)crucial ram,western digital 80 gig 8 meg buffer harddrive,powercolour radeon 9800se video card,Latest Msi amd nforce 2 motherboard,Win xp pro sp1 with no tweaks,400w antec psu,coolermaster 7200 rpm copper cpu fan.

This system isnt used for the net, Xp pro wasnt a fresh install and had previously had a gforce 4400ti video card inside it, and this system is running at 1024X768 with all settings maxed and it runs without graphical errors,crashes,etc. Framerates are mostly smooth between 30-60 fps and i do get occasional stutter only now and then when a lot is going on and not to forget i havent installed the farcry patch.


Correct me if i havent been specific enough

Hi

1.The purpose with the results was just to help those out with technical difficulties and to analyse wether it is a system fault rather than a software flaw.

I dont post here much but i do browse this forum a lot and notice a lot of unneccesary similar posts which in a way are wasting server bandwidth and not helping due to so many posts scatterd everywhere.

2.The info was just to benefit the community at the end of the day.


I just think its unfair to blame farcry for certain problems when it could be just down to hardware setups and drivers.

Ok my problem is , i cant run this game on any setting without it studdering and pausing. altho i get high frame rates even with settings on very high ( 34 at least 70 at most, ) it still studders and pauses. My friend says its doin that becuase i need more ram, is that true? Also i cant install patch 1.1 it says that i already have it installed and i need to remove it, but when i try to remove it it doesn remove lol (yes ive alreayd tryed reinstallin the game several times). Sorry if i complained to much.

Most info on sig.. Fsb @151 Voltage = 1.650 no crashes and highest temp is 58 deg...
Dual channel Ddr, HT is enabled. Hrmm Hyper threading makes Farcry run about 4 fps faster for me in benchmarks AND it makes my cpu run cooler so Ht is the way to go in Farcry i think (For p4 procs neways!)...Lets see....Though it is possible to run at Super max settings (Yes with water @ ultra high) it makes the game crawl to a 25-40 fps usually in Multiplayer...(For me anyways..) 4.4 Cats gave me great boosts in Fps and so did turning on fastwrites and Agp write. I also found that far cry HATES it when ure desktop is at a different resolution than it. Try to make them the same! ...Uhhh ...Motherboard bios newest (8sq800 Gigabyte)..Stock cooler on Cpu...350WPsu Enermax. High stability overall in Farcry

I am sorry but I do blame far cry and ubi soft for the poor performance I am experiencing. I cannot stand when I read the system requirements on the box and I smile feeling pretty content knowing "hey I'm fine!"

Then I get home spend about an hour getting all the drivers and patches and waiting for the entire game to install only to find that just like that disaster MAFIA there are more video options than I have ever seen!! And no matter what you do with those options your still either gonna have slow framerate, constant crashes, or if you put everything at low quality your now wishing that you were playing PS2.

I have a theory as to why this is!

You see these bloated companies put such low specs and fill you with all this hype so that unless you have a $4000 dollar gaming rig your not going to get all the awesome stuff they hype. And if you can afford $4000 then you don't have time to spend 4 hours a night playing video games!!

Then they leave all those options for you to figure out in order to have the excuse "Hey its not the game pal its your setup"

I swear this games engine is running on the outdated and frankly sickening engine of battlefeild 1942.

Maybe you guys could take a look at unreal4. Even though thats not really my type of game whats funny is that ut4 gives you like 5 video options and that game looks like heaven. WHY IS THAT LISA???

UBI soft is getting soft if you ask me. pandora tomorrow was said to be completely different from the first and when I bought it for my XBOX I found that they just basically took the first game and added new maps and the lame half split jump to it (which there is like 2 places in the entire game 2 do that?) Its still linear as ever! None of the hype was true at all. The game was good but so was the original from years past. But alas I ran out and bought your pt and you got your money right?

Ubi is headed downhill and I sold all my stock.

lets hope that halflife and valve will not only make a great HL2 but that they can p0ick up where these others let us down.

Play counter strike on Valves steam network and then compare the smooth and exciting gameplay to far cry, ghost recon, and the gross rainbow six 3 and then come talk to me.

And just think counter strike is on the grandma of game engines. LMAO
