Does UBI have any intention of fixing the graphcal anomalies that exist when running Splinter Cell on a Radeon. Turning off FSAA to kill the lighting problems is bandage. Will we ever get our anti aliasing back?

No card's antialiasing feature will work with Splinter Cell for the simple fact that SC does not support this feature

That was a non answer. Is this ever going to be fixed, reguardless of it being an Nvidia or ATI problem?

Curious. How is it that a game based on the the UT2K3 engine fails to support FSAA when others based on the same, do. And since when was FSAA supposed to be supported, anyways? It is supposed to be a function of the card, not a feature of the software.

NO. If you look through the forums you'll find a thread about this issue. It won't be fixed because of a programming bug. If you set your resolution to 1280x1024 and set all your settings to high, it may work, mine does. That's probably where the bug is. But no, it won't be fixed.

    Pitty...

Good greif it seems forever ago that I bought this game. I just started playing it seriously the other day (time to clear the paid but unplayed game shelf). But, anyways, I seem to remember that when I first purchased this title, FSAA did work and it was a driver revision that really hosed things up. I may be imagining things, but I swear that back in the days of ATI 3.2's (maybe I had a GF4 yet *shrug*) that FSAA worked fine and that the lighting problems came later.

Well, it's never been supported. I've had the game since the day it came out. I had a "blue screen of death" problem, but that was from the 1.1 patch, but that was with GF4 TI4600.

it is Full Screen Antialiasing, it makes jaggies smooth

a jaggie is the jagged edge you see of objects that are supposed to be smooth. objects in games are made of polygons, many many polygons, that is what you see when u see a jaggie

does this in any way make the nightvision a little bit better or is it sum what of a cosmetic touch that picky ppl turn on cause its satisfying?

Nothin beats a huge clump of "jaggies" to give u that "PS1" feel to a game.. then u realise ur on a pc and kinda think "damn it" and turn up to the max and whoop its butt
