Sorry if this matter has been repeated ad nauseum but I really have a hard time understanding what the hell is going wrong with my settings and can't have a nice fps number.
I recently upgraded from a GeForce 3 Ti200 (64MB) to a GeForce FX 5200 (128MB) and was expecting to have at least decent fps at 1280x960 which is my monitor's native resolution. However the situation is unbearable and I have almost abominal fps in multiplayer games.
My machine is the same as in the past, apart from the new graphics adapter, so why do I get worse fps?
Obviously I'm asking too much from the quality settings, I thought. WRONG! With the default settings from IL2's setup I still get horrible fps, almost never more than 10-15fps, being even less near the ground and in cockpit.
Can someone please tell me his settings if he has the same adapter and/or suggest me a comprehensive IL2 settings guide (for all those funky settings I don't know which to keep and which to disable) to tweak my system to a playable level?
Thank you in advance,
Constantine.
