Well, i dunno wut to say...

ati 9800 pro
amd 2800xp
1024ddr pc2700 ram
Asus a7v8x-x motherboard
dx9.0b
4.3cats
did nothing to the ati control panel

1024x resolution
and i touched nothing else except advanced video options

Setting everything to "very high", i sometimes get really low fps. Low as 17fps... Otherwise rarely i get 40. I mostly get 17-38

Setting everything to "High" does basically the same thing.

Medium is fine mostly... I can pump 60+fps out of that and low 40's when in fire fights..

Why the heck is my pc so ^&*^*'ed up? I aleady did get an extra 512 ram for the game. Which did nothing :\

Any idea's?

BTW, i can see a whole bunch of twitches in the gfx when looking in the binoculars. Could that be anything?

i get reasonably similar results with a resonably similar system (difference being 2400+ to 2800+ )

The game pushes the envelope, thats for sure :O

But it also seems to be nicer to play at low fps than most too, ive found. as long as it stays >40 its playable, 60 is nice

I just wanna play with the extras like fish, birds, sharks. Have 2x AA on and see grass which is settings "high" and "very high" I basically seems though that the grass slows me down alot :0

LOL P4 3.2, 9800 pro (256) The game does not run well at all. I'm at 1024x768 advanced details on medium w/ low aa. This gives me an acceptable frame rate. I don't know how to clock my FPS so I can't give you and approximate guess. I have cat 4.3. I've run ad-aware, closed out many processes in task mngr. I haven't defragged my hd yet, but I did that a few months ago. This game should run like a champ on my puter. What can I be doing wrong?

I have everything set at meduim too... 50-80 fps.. any higher and it drops to 20-50... Talk about next gen games!!!

Far Cry sha'll be known as the buggiest anti-graphics card game of the year!

Sigh i guess ill just play on Medium settings myself... its very ****ty

Hope ATi or crytek comes out with a good patch for us

i guess we'll all have to wait for the inevitable tweak guides for this game... really there's A LOT of stuff that can be adjusted that isn't accessible via the game settings menu but is in the files and the console. We just have need to find all the things that can be turned down without affecting image quality for performance gains.

It's not buggy. It just pushes the limit on present day consumer available technology.
