Hey guys, I know this is kinda late, but better late then never. I got into contact with my friend at UBI. He dropped me a ton of information from the dev team. Here is what he gave me, if you need anymore info, let me know and I'll ask him:
------------------------------------------------------------------
1) How to load a new map into the game?
Your map should follow the following naming convention
You map names should begin by DM_ (for deathmatch levels), CTF_ (for
capture
the flag levels), SB_ for sabotage levels)
Exemple DM_Fort is a deathmatch level.
To have it in your selection menu, add the map in the /maps folder
You should then edit the /system/maplist.ini file.
It should be pretty obvious for the kind of user we are targeting how
this
file works. Just copy and paste one otf the lines, replace the names
accordingly
MapListInfo MapReadableName="Fortress",MapUnrName="CTF_Fort.un r",NbPlayers=
8,bDeathMatchOnly=false,bOnXBox=true,bOnPC=true,bO nCube=true,bOnPS2=true)
Here for exemple, we have added our newly created CTF_Fort level
(mapunrName) , and it will in game appeared as Fortress
(MapReadableName).
Advanced users can actually play around with the maximum numbers of
players
field (NbPlayers).
3) Links to online resources
Big sites like www.planetunreal.com are good starting points
http://www.planetunreal.com/hosted/editing.shtml
http://unreal.gamedesign.net/ as well
Tanguy, those two sites are in French and might prove helpful
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/amisa/chantier1.htm
http://artanis.free.fr/unreal/edition/etap1.html
I also have a training document if anyone would like it. Just PM me and give me you email, and I'll be happy to send it your way.

Damn ... why don't they install it at the busy forums like R63 , SC and XIII first and then on the less visited boards like Far Cry ...
Maybe the French have different logic
