Thread: Allied planes vs Axis planes | Forums

    Hi all,
I'm making my first online dogfight map. It's very simple, has 2 bases, very light on the AA to reduce lag etc.
But I would like one base (blue) be only Allied aircraft and the Red base only Axis.
Is there a list somewhere? I know some of the planes, but not all of them, but I know for sure the germans didnt fly in Spitfires, lol.
I also want to set restrictions on the year/time of the war, meaning no Gladiators and TB3's in 1944 etc.

I noticed in the FMB, when you choose Homebase and then Aircraft, there are three options at the bottom, but those dont do anything when I select something.

    Thx.

Knowing what planes are historically correct for a side/year of the war just takes a little research, and is half the fun.

I recommend you go to www.google.com and search for the information you need. When I was building my Greece 1940 Dogfight Arena, I was able to find Air Orders of Battle, brief descriptions of the fighting and almost all of the info I needed to build an accurate map.

The "normal" convention is Axis - Blue, and Allied - Red.

I recommend you stick to this as the FMB GUI defaults many of the Objects to this convention. Not sure, but I also think selection of aircraft by year from the Homebase Aircraft Tab also follows this rule. So this is probably why you get no result when trying to use the menu at the bottom of the page.
    All the best, Don (FA_Cheech)
