    Hey there all, I was so excited to drop in my New ATI 9800pro, an upgrade from my 9600 pro. I wanted to fly in Perfect mode ( we all do lol) I have done it in teh past withmy 9600 but frames of 20-25 fps... I did not know what to expect from my 9800 but alot more than that, what I got was soemthing I think was truly unexpected, a freak psycadellic show, with black skies and tracers of my everymovement, it was terrible, I thought there was soemthign wrong, terribley wrong.

    I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled tehm but I am gettign teh same results, for teh uninstall I removed everythign usint teh ti Uninstaller, then deleted any reg files, so it would be a clean install.. what should I be doing ?

    Post your dxdiag, mobo/cpu temps at idle and underload, along with the [Render_OpenGL] portion of your conf and ati control panel/ ogl tab settings.

    Somethings not right.... I reckon the drivers are buggered somewhere... I had a "wonky" perfect - not like this - worse! "Clean" driver install ((4.7 cats fixed it....) Also are you OC'ing your card?

    ALright ,

    my temp at rest is 56C/134F. mo bo 36C/ 96F. this is idle on all day....

    durring game play... 58C I realise this is not reflective, but perhaps it is, I may not have cooled completly to Idle...

    You have two active sound devices at Full acceleration, Creative SB Extigy and Soundstorm, and thats not good. Pick The one you want to keep and uninstall the other.

    At the moment, you're too hot. Open the case side and direct a toward the cpu. This should give you a 6-10*C drop in temps. Verify that all fans are working properly.

    Install unified driver version 4.24
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_4.24

    Retest.
    Also need to see the [Render_OpenGL] portion of your conf and ati control panel/ ogl tab settings if there isn't an immediate resolution to the problem by doing the three items above.

    Omega has released its cat4.7 version. You should consider giving them a try. I believe you'll find them an improvement over your current 4.1s.

    the open Gl.. I droped my CPU temp to 51, it was a case fan not plugged in, no big deal, I added an 80mm fan as well A monster, lol.
    thought is dose not sem to spin all that fast, but moving air is moving air, ...

    I already have the latest Omega drivers installed, 4.7... hmm I think I do anyhow they were jsut dl's last night , and installed today.

    Your [Render_OpenGL] is not ideal for a 9800 Pro. Try mine. Also, texture problems have been reported by some when using water=1. For now, test with either 2 or 0.
    Your posted dxdiag shows Omega cat4.1 as the display driver.

    S!~ and many thanx,after it all the only thing that made any diffrance was your settings.

    I aprecate you taking the time today man. You have made me quite happy. I have to say that the water in Perfect mode, for the map, Online Island 8. Is worth the hassle, as nice as the scenery in LOMAC.

    I can't say how great it is to have people like yourself here in the community.
