What does the shuffling command do? I know you walk quieter, but what else does it do? How does the character move differently?

Thanks,
Brad

To Beretta92ELITE1,

The shuffle key has a number of functions and the first is that it allows you to get close to the enemy without being detected. Also as you become better conversed with the keyboard set-up you use this key in conjunction with the peek and side step key to look around corners. It can also be used in the crouched position as a shuffle key.

It slows down your movement to make those minor adjustments without making big bounds. It is a key you really want to work on it's use as once learnt you will use it all the time and will save your life.

Thanks for the response. I understand how to use it, however don't understand exactly what the character is doing. Is he skidding or sliding on the floor, or just taking small quiet steps, or quiet large ones?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Brad

I think "shuffle" is a bad choice of words for the movement because I, like I suspect you do, think about the Airborne Shuffle which is hardly quiet. I think the soldier is just taking slow, quiet steps - also the pips of the reticle stay 'closer'.

Beretta92ELITE1,
Welcome to these forums.
In addition to what snipe21 has said, the shuffle key will lessen the amount your reticle will bloom while moving and also while firing your weapon. If you are familiar with Tim Conway, he portrayed the charactor of an old man on the Carol Burnett Show. Tim would take these teeny tiny steps and take forever to get where he was going. That is how you will look while using the shuffle key, so don't let your online teamates see you doing it or they will laugh so hard they will be prey to the enemy. If they survive you will be known as Mr. Tudball. Just don't let them see you doing the shuffle.

Thanks to Snipe telling me about the Shuffle key, my coop buddy and I use it constantly (I read the whole manual and missed it). And it doesn't look bad to me at all. To me it looks just like it sounds - feet simply slide across the ground, first one, then the other. But I'm talking about a crouched shuffle. I have no idea what a standing shuffle looks like - I suppose it could look quite goofy.

My buddy and I rarely stand as it lowers your accuracy and makes you more vulnerable if I remember correctly.

Here's a little known fact. Use the shuffle key while crawling. It keeps reticle bloom to a minimum and doesn't slow down your crawl speed.
