Is there any way for players not involved with the ubisoft design team to create their own 3d terrain for the IL2 Forgotten battles game? I'm not talking about just changing the planes and ground targets on the existing maps. I want to play in the Solomon's and New Guinea. Many Combat Flight sim players including myself would much prefer to play in the Pacific theatre but are not at all happy with the Microsoft cfs2 game and it's overly limited features. If not will anyone working for ubisoft be working on this?

Not at this stage...They're coded or something and until 1C release the codes, which I presume (and hope) won't happen until the game is superceeded by something equally fantastic. I guess that keeps the quality up on addons though...some of the addons for CFS2 were of questionable quality!

But have you tried making your own missions in the FMB. Load all the different maps and take a look...theres alot of different terrains available to "simulate" different regions. I've used the Online7islands map as a Pacific scenario before....I know its not New Guinea or anything but hey...maybe later.

    Cheers Esq.

IL2-FB is a restricted, but it provides you with the very best combat flight sim ever developed.

I remember the CFS2 solomons and had a ball until I realized Corsairs were fighting like Zeros ( T & B)
Every combat engagement wound up on the deck T & B.

The IL2-FB is a professionally completed software at every stage of development. The recent patch was over 42 megs. Think about that...a monster sized patch. Not some little tweaky 2 meg patch. Not because there was that much wrong...but that many improvements in all kinds of places.

Give the IL2-FB a go, and remember this...you'll be learning new things about this sim for a year. You'll love it when you can manage to stay airborne.

IL2 developers are working on some A6M2 (zero) aircraft now, so we could possibly have a Pacific theatre at some point. I wouldn't expect if anytime soon though.

Try to view the world as dirt, water and air. Those things are in Russia and Eastern Europe as well. You've got put aside your predispositions to where you want to combat flight sim, and then the IL2-FB will really work for you.
