hey guess what I just got a class project that goes in this way. I have to render a picture of a closeup face in a typographic collage. I have to make shadowing effects with paragraphs lines cutted from many magazines. Fortunately I don't have to animate it [img]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif[/img]

Wouldn't really take that long. There are rendering filters for that sort of thing. I've done it myself with stills before. Now what would be *really* cool, and definitely indicate someone had too much time on their hands, would be to make the characters used actual matrix characters (a combination of numbers and I believe Kenji, though I could be mistaken) instead of just ascii. Maybe it would be easier than I'm thinking, but you would have to rewrite the filter.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure a software tool was used to do that, I think I remember tools that allowed playing DOOM (?) in text terminals on *nix boxes. You want to see the work of someone with too many time on his hands?... look this:

It's cool, and would have taken awhile to make, but I think the matrix one is much better.

The matrix was done with a graphic to text rendering tool while the starwars was made by hand... that's a big, big difference... but you are free to like whatever you want false prophet [img]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif[/img]
