I have been wondering about that as well. Some things I have figured out so far:

    ...Objects...
Drag select them (Select and Move icon) all, choose grid lock "XY icon" to avoid vertical movement, then hit Ctrl+C (copy), hit space (to lock the selection), then fly to where you want to place the objects, and move the selection by using the movement gizmo.

Be careful and avoid turning on "follow terrain", this can seriously mess up alignments, e.g. objects on tables, would suddenly hug the floor.

    ...Vegetation...
Go into vegetation placement mode: RollupBar, Terrain tab, Vegetation button. Multi-drag-select all the vegetation you want to use elsewhere, turn on the "follow terrain icon", press and *hold* the CTRL-key, and then drag mode the vegetation where you want it to be.

Note: Alas there seems to be *no* way to clone a vegetation setup.

    ...Terrain...
There also seems to be a way to copy/paste terrain. Never been able to figure this out though. Any help here would be great. Thanx.

    Unless you group them first.
