Stalls have nothing to do w/ the engine. Stalls are an aerodynamic phenomenon. When your angle of attack (the angle between the direction of your movement and the direction your nose is pointed) is too high you wing ceases to produce lift and you "Stall out". When you do stall you must neutralize the control stick or even push it forward to achieve a dive. Once speed is back up and you're wings have lift again you can pull out of the dive. When one wing stalls before the other you have a 'spin' but that's another matter.

Simply put to avoid a stall try to avoid turning too tightly. How tightly depends on your speed and the aircraft your flying. When your slow (right after takeoff) you can't turn very hard at all, but as you gain speed you can turn tighter. If you pull too hard you will stall @ any speed.
