Well, it's according. That is slightly hot for a P4, my AMD runs at 45C idle, 52C full load. The P4 is a much cooler processor than the AMD. The AMD processors run so hot that some of the laptops AMD equipted caught on fire. But, I wouldn't worry, as long as you're under 60C, then you'll be fine. There's nothing to worry about.
Now, about your crashing. It looks that your video card and mobo drivers are up to date. But, I noticed that you have DX 9.0a. DX 9.0b is out now, you may want to grab it anyway, but I don't think that'll fix your crashing. I want you to reinstall the game. Did you get any errors when you first installed the game? Any files that wouldn't load?
Have you installed the 1.2b patch? Is XP fully updated according to Microsoft's update?
Those are quite a few things to look at. If you still have problems, let me know, and I'll see what else I can think of.

Is there any way to keep my game progress after the reinstall, I just killed grinko, and all while battling the damn crashing!!! I have all my updates, and I am in the process of d/ling 9.0b (DX) but just wondering about the game. PS the game loaded fine.
Thanks Man!!!

You can keep your progress. All you have to do is go get the save folder from the SC directory on your computer. Just copy it to another place (remember where you put it), and after the reinstall, drop it back into the SC directory.
I had a simular problem with NOLF2. I just reinstalled, and everything was hunky dory. The only problem was that when you reinstall that particular game, you lose your previous saves. I've yet to find a way around that.

Run a virus scan on your computer. It shouldn't have any problems.
