As long as the Patrols are dynamic, i really don't care how I get to the patrol area. I would prefer to depart from and return to my base, but it is secondary to dynamic/randomness of action in Patrol Areas.

The camera would be very useful for us people who like to do screenshots and also to use while trying to figure out effects of the game. I like the camera view where u can select a victom ship that your AI is firing upon and you can see it from both points of view. Would be kool if there were AI people on board and see at their eye level. Makes things feel more real.

no, no, no..lets just stick with 'Campaign For Real Ale' I'm sure the Devteam will include several virtual crates of Becks Bier, probably stashed in the forward torpedo room, well away from the Commander !

And when that heavy cruiser is sunk, the crew celebrate, get paraletic and we then have to wait 24 hrs for them to recover before we can continue with the patrol.

    Ahead 1 third !

i thought the 3d provided a better simulation of having 4 to 6 men on your bridge than the actual BRIDGE view which I've always felt in subsims was a major weakness. The bridge view reminded me of a big periscope view. certainly no like having a watch. but something like this is hard to convey in on a video monitor, and the hardest thing to pull off in a wargame is the realistic transfer of information, which in battle, I imagine, can be fast and furious.

of course with the super realistic bridge and crew functionality, my opinion may change, but the way i see it....why take the chance.

it's the same thing in a tank. you really have a huge advantage if you are up in the cupulla and can look around, as opposed to being down in the turret buttoned up and having to develop your situational awareness threw the vision blocks.

of course, the Germans lost a whole lot of TC's who were shot, grenaded, mortared, shelled at what not because their upper torso was sticking out the top of the commanders hatch. which I suppose is like the danger to the uboat from air attack: the price they paid for their mobility.

To counter these air attacks late in the war it would be the radio man who would be the one to give the command DIVE! because of oncomming aircraft. The radio operator would hear the beep chatter from aircraft over the radio. When the radio operator got a stronger intensity signal he would announce "W've got volume 5" and give the command DIVE DIVE! Snell Loose loose! All ahead forward move move move!
