Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get past the 5th mission.. I can beat everything but the extraction zone part i cant get into the building or watever u have to do. Its just the regular Ghost Recon the First One..

About in the middle of the map is a building that has walls all around it with three ways to get into area. As you look at the front of the building on the right hand side is a set of exterior stairs. Go up the stairs to the roof and you must get all team members on the heli pad in the green square that is marked on the map.

watch out for the rooftop snipers. im too good for them to hit me though. i dont use bullet time, i use mullet time!!
when we die in life we dont have a respawn rate and ping indicators. have 1 chance to live. use it to kick .......... mmmmmm....... pie

Just go kill every russian on the map. Then, you don't have to worry about getting to the extraction zone.

Whatever you do though make sure you take out that dang tank. If you don't take out the tank and he gets set up by the extraction point you can almost kiss your a$$ by.

lol yea that tank is a real pain...make sure you ahve one...maybe two M136's in your squad for this.
Don't mess with a big monkey with a handgun...unless you have an M-16

Yeah, I was stupid enough to use all my anti-tank rounds before encountering the tank and didn't feel like starting over. The tank positioned itself facing the stairs to the top of extraction zone bldg. I was able to walk up to tank and "knock on the door" but I couldn't distract it. I was able to sneak half of my troops up the stairs except I had severe troubles with my 3-man squad. Even on elite, I didn't encounter any snipers in the extraction zone area.

My favorite mission by far. Just before I wake up the tank I position A prone in front of the hotel (after securing) facing the library. I have b hidden in the parking garage (secured). I then set for C two way points. At a dead run I send C to the crash site which causes the enemy AI to pour out of the library to be ambushed by A. C, then still at a dead run deep into the nearest alleyway for cover. By the time the tank is alerted A has finished and is going flat out to hide in the garage with B that is waiting for the tank with an M136. As soon as the tank turns the corner in front of the library you have all the time needed to set up your shot and finish off the AI rolling your way with the tank. After that the extraction zone is a walk in the park.

Another down side to playing on a console (xbox), there is no tank in this mission.
I have the same objectives, but I never "have" to take a Demo guy with me, although i do to clear out the bank. After shooting the roof top snipers and clearing out the patrols down in the courtyard, I move towards the library, killing as I go. I usually move a team behind the building the enemy is hiding in, across from the library, sneak up the stairs, and toss a grenade in the hallway. From there, I go to the north side of the library, take out the patrols by the heli.
At that point, there is usually no one left. If there is, I ignore them and beat feet to the extraction zone.
